BBC Rugby Union: Dragons Secure Prop Lineup for 2024-25 Season

The Dragons have solidified their front-row options for the upcoming 2024-25 season, with several key players extending their stays at the Welsh regional team.

Tight-head prop Leon Brown, who has endured an injury-interrupted career with both the Dragons and the Wales national team, has signed a new contract with the region. He will be joined by Moldova international Dmitri Arhip, who has agreed a permanent deal after initially joining on a short-term contract last season.

Arhip, a former player for Cardiff and the Ospreys, will add valuable experience and solidity to the Dragons’ scrum. Commenting on the signing, head coach Dai Flanagan praised Arhip as a “rock-solid performer” and a “total professional” who will bring a “huge amount” to the squad.

In addition to Brown and Arhip, the Dragons have also secured new deals for props Chris Coleman, Rodrigo Martinez, and Luke Yendle. Furthermore, hooker James Benjamin has committed his future to the east Wales-based team.

Flanagan expressed his delight at securing the services of these front-row talents, emphasizing the “real expectation” on them to continue their development and deliver strong performances for the Dragons in the seasons ahead.

The news of these contract extensions will be welcomed by Dragons supporters, as the team looks to build on its recent performances and challenge for domestic and European honors in the coming years.
