Gloucester-Hartpury Gear Up to Defend Premiership Women’s Rugby Title
Gloucester-Hartpury, the reigning Premiership Women’s Rugby champions, will open their title defense at home against Leicester Tigers on the opening weekend of the 2024-25 season. Sean Lynn’s side secured back-to-back Premiership triumphs last season, defeating Bristol Bears in the final.
“The team’s bid for a third consecutive championship will commence on October 6th. Despite their recent dominance, attack coach Andrew Ford emphasizes that the squad is not ‘putting any pressure on ourselves.’ He acknowledges that the league is growing increasingly competitive, which the Gloucester-Hartpury squad welcomes.”
Elsewhere, three-time winners Saracens, who finished as runners-up in the previous campaign before losing to Bristol in the semi-finals, will begin their campaign against Trailfinders on October 5th. Bristol Bears face Loughborough Lightning, while Harlequins take on Exeter Chiefs at Twickenham. Sale Sharks, meanwhile, have a bye in the opening round.
