Gloucester-Hartpury Secure Wales International Carys Williams-Morris
In a significant move for the upcoming rugby union season, Gloucester-Hartpury have announced the signing of Wales back Carys Williams-Morris from Loughborough Lightning. The 30-year-old, who has earned 10 caps for her national team, will be joining the squad after her most recent appearance against New Zealand in the WXV tournament last autumn.
Prior to representing Wales, Williams-Morris had played for the England national team, making five appearances for the Red Roses before switching her allegiance. In addition to her impressive rugby career, the winger also serves as a Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force (RAF).
Gloucester-Hartpury’s attack coach, Andrew Ford, expressed his enthusiasm about the new acquisition. “We’re excited to bring someone of Carys’ talent into the squad,” he said. “She has played top-level rugby for a number of years now, and we know she’ll be a valuable addition to the team.”
This signing comes as the rugby union season approaches, with the highly anticipated Rugby World Cup final on the horizon. The addition of Williams-Morris, with her extensive experience and international pedigree, is sure to bolster Gloucester-Hartpury’s lineup and raise expectations for the team’s performance in the upcoming competitions.
