Neath RFC Confirms Gnoll Ground Will Not Host Ospreys
In a recent development, Neath RFC has announced that their Gnoll ground will not become the new permanent home for the Ospreys rugby union team. This announcement comes after representatives from both sides met to discuss the matter.
Ospreys chief executive Lance Bradley had previously revealed in January that the region would be leaving their current home ground, the 20,000-capacity Swansea.com Stadium, which is the home of football club Swansea City FC. The Ospreys have been seeking a smaller venue to call their new permanent home, with the final decision set to be between St Helen’s in Swansea and the Brewery Field in Bridgend. The Ospreys aim to have completed their move by the 2025-26 season.
In a statement shared on social media, Neath RFC clarified that the Ospreys will not be playing at their Gnoll ground next season or in the future. The club wished Swansea and Bridgend all the best in securing the contract for the Ospreys’ new home ground.
This news marks a significant development in the Ospreys’ search for a new permanent venue, as the Gnoll ground in Neath was previously considered a potential option. Fans of rugby union in Wales will be keen to follow the ongoing discussions and the final decision regarding the Ospreys’ future home.
