Ospreys Bolster Roster with Short-Term Signing of Winger Ryan Conbeer
In a move to strengthen their squad, the Ospreys have secured the services of winger Ryan Conbeer on a short-term deal. The 25-year-old found himself without a club after being released by the Scarlets at the end of last season.
Conbeer expressed his ease in settling into the Ospreys team, stating, > “It’s been really easy to get settled in with the Ospreys. I know a fair few of the boys already, but everyone at the club has made me feel welcome since I’ve been here.”
The talented winger is eager to take the field with his new teammates, adding, > “I’m looking forward to stepping onto the pitch with the team and making an impact wherever I can.”
Prior to his Ospreys move, Conbeer had represented Wales at the sevens level and held the record for most appearances (23) for the Wales Under-20 team, a mark that was recently surpassed by Morgan Morse.
Ospreys Head Coach Explains the Decision
Ospreys head coach Toby Booth explained the decision to bring in Conbeer, stating, > “With Keelan [Giles] currently out injured, it made a lot of sense for us to bring in someone of Ryan’s calibre at the wing position. He’s got a proven track record and is someone we still see as having a bright future in rugby.”
The addition of Conbeer is expected to bolster the Ospreys’ backline and provide valuable depth as they navigate the upcoming rugby union season.
