Resonating with Rugby Union Enthusiasts: Rewritten Version
As the Red Roses prepare to defend their Six Nations crown, England’s women’s rugby team is poised to captivate audiences like never before. John Mitchell’s side stands on the brink of a sixth consecutive title and a third straight Grand Slam, with only France standing in their way.
The Red Roses have been a dominant force in the women’s game, thriving on the pitch and determined to use their growing platform to elevate the female game ahead of England’s hosting of the 2025 Women’s World Cup. In a recent lifestyle photoshoot, the players have showcased their diverse talents, from superstar fullback Ellie Kildunne’s fashion ventures to Marlie Packer’s long-standing international career.
“I’m very creative off the pitch and I hope that shows on it. I try and find happiness in everything I’m doing,” said the ever-versatile Kildunne, who has scored an impressive nine tries in just four Six Nations matches this year.
England’s attacking prowess, bolstered by the guidance of former men’s boss Brian Ashton, has been on full display, with the team amassing 38 tries and 228 points in the current campaign. “We spoke about taking the handbrake off and that’s what we’re doing. By doing that we’re finding different ways of scoring,” Kildunne explained.
As the Red Roses aim to seal yet another Six Nations title and Grand Slam, the players remain acutely aware of their responsibilities as role models. “Being a role model is really important,” said winger Jess Breach, who forms an electric back three alongside Abby Dow and Kildunne.
Ominously for France, head coach Mitchell believes his team can dial up their performance even further for the Grand Slam decider, having already secured a dominant 88-10 victory over Ireland. “We’ll always want to be better,” he declared.
