Scarlets Announce Sixth New Signing for 2024-25 Season
Scarlets, the Welsh rugby union team, have announced the signing of Blair Murray as their sixth new player for the 2024-25 season. This follows the earlier additions of prop Henry Thomas, hooker Marnus van der Merwe, prop Alec Hepburn, second row Max Douglas, and full-back Ellis Mee.
“Blair is an exciting prospect with pace, ability to beat defenders, and excellent footballing skills,” said Dwayne Peel, the Scarlets’ head coach. Peel acknowledged that the team is in the midst of a rebuilding phase and that Murray’s signing will add depth to the squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
In addition to the new signings, the Scarlets have also secured contract extensions with several key players, including Sam Lousi, Tom Rogers, Harri O’Connor, Ben Williams, and Dan Davis. Negotiations are ongoing for contract extensions with center Johnny Williams and lock Alex Craig.
The Scarlets’ summer departures include notable players such as Wyn Jones, Ken Owens, Scott Williams, Jonathan Davies, Johnny McNicholl, Kieran Hardy, Steff Thomas, Dan Jones, Ryan Conbeer, and Teddy Leatherbarrow.
