Scotland Lock Alex Craig Extends Stay with Scarlets
Scotland international Alex Craig has committed his future to Welsh regional side Scarlets, signing a new contract with the club. The 27-year-old lock enjoyed a successful debut campaign at Parc y Scarlets in 2023-24, making 20 appearances and being voted the players’ player of the season.
After joining from Gloucester, Craig has firmly established himself as an integral part of the Scarlets squad. Renowned for his “old school” playing style, the towering second-row is praised by head coach Dwayne Peel for his tireless work rate, aggressive ball carrying, and high ruck involvement – all of which proved invaluable this past season.
“We have a young, exciting squad with some new faces coming aboard, and I’m looking forward to linking up with the boys again after the summer tour, ready to go again next season,” he said.
Craig, who has two Scotland caps to his name, will join his international teammates on their upcoming tour of the Americas. Upon his return, he will be part of a Scarlets squad that has seen several high-profile re-signings, including Tonga lock Sam Lousi, Wales internationals Johnny Williams, Tom Rogers, and Harri O’Connor, as well as back-rowers Dan Davis and Ben Williams.
