Scotland Welcome World Champions South Africa to Murrayfield on Sunday
In a highly anticipated rugby union clash, the Scotland national team will host the reigning world champions, South Africa, at Murrayfield on Sunday. The hosts will be boosted by the return of several key players, including France-based duo Blair Kinghorn and Ben White, as well as Bath fly-half Finn Russell, who were unavailable for the previous match against Fiji.
The versatile New Zealand-born back, Tom Jordan, has been handed his first start for Scotland, taking the full-back position in place of the injured Kyle Rowe. Head coach Gregor Townsend has opted for a 6-2 bench to combat the Springboks’ powerful game plan.
“We’re excited to welcome the world champions to Murrayfield and test ourselves against the best team in the world,” said Townsend. “Our players have been working hard in training and are ready for the challenge.”
Kinghorn, Scotland’s regular full-back, will start on the wing, replacing Darcy Graham. White and Russell will take over the half-back positions from last weekend’s pairing of Ali Price and Adam Hastings.
Former Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie has been recalled to the matchday 23 and will feature among the substitutes.
The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with the hosts looking to upset the reigning world champions on home soil.
