Ex-Wales Hooker Scott Baldwin Departs as Newcastle Falcons Defense Coach
Former Wales international Scott Baldwin has stepped down from his role as defense coach at Newcastle Falcons, according to a statement from the club.
The 35-year-old, who retired from playing last summer, had taken up the coaching position at Kingston Park but has now decided to leave for personal reasons.
“The club would like to thank Scott for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
It has been a challenging season for Newcastle Falcons, who finished bottom of the Premiership table after becoming only the third team in the league’s history to end the campaign without a single win. The team lost all 18 games, earning just five bonus points and finishing 27 points behind second-bottom Gloucester.
Baldwin, who earned 37 caps for the Wales national team and made 179 appearances for Ospreys across two spells, has now departed the Falcons with the club’s thanks and best wishes.
