Wales Forward Shane Lewis-Hughes Joins Dragons Squad
The Wales national rugby union team’s forward, Shane Lewis-Hughes, is set to leave Cardiff and join the Dragons squad for the upcoming season. Lewis-Hughes, who can play as a flanker or lock, has been with Cardiff’s Academy and has made 68 appearances for the region.
The 26-year-old, who has won three caps for the Welsh national team, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating, “I’m so grateful for the Dragons in giving me this chance.” He acknowledged the challenges he has faced in recent years due to injuries, which have hindered him from reaching the levels he knows he is capable of.
“Dragons have put faith in me to add value to the club, and I can’t wait to get started,” Lewis-Hughes added.
Dragons head coach, Dai Flanagan, described the incoming player as a “driven and ambitious” individual who will bring a physical presence to the team. “Shane is extremely competitive and will therefore drive standards in the squad and push others around him to produce their very best,” Flanagan said.
