South African Back Chris Hollis Joins Dragons on Short-Term Deal
In a strategic move, the Dragons have secured the services of South African back Chris Hollis on a short-term contract. The 25-year-old, who most recently played for the Stormers, has joined the Welsh region on trial for their final three games in the United Rugby Championship (URC).
Reflecting on the signing, Dragons head coach Dai Flanagan expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “> Chris is a player who wants game time and is a big ball-carrier and man who can make his mark here.”
Flanagan further revealed that he had been following Hollis’ progress for several years, dating back to his time with the Southern Kings, and has been a longtime admirer of the versatile player.
Hollis, who can play as both a centre and a wing, will look to make an immediate impact as the Dragons strive to finish their URC campaign on a high note. With his physicality and ball-carrying abilities, the South African’s addition to the squad is expected to bolster the team’s attacking options in the crucial final stretch of the season.
This short-term deal represents an exciting opportunity for Hollis to showcase his skills and potentially earn a longer-term contract with the Dragons, as the Welsh region continues to strengthen its roster and build towards future success.
