BBC Rugby Union: Tom Curry Set for Timely Return in Premiership Semi-Final

Sale flanker Tom Curry, 25, is poised to make his much-anticipated return to the field this Saturday in the Premiership semi-final clash against Bath. Curry, a key figure in the England national rugby union team, had been sidelined for months following chronic hip damage sustained during the recent Rugby World Cup.

“It was initially feared that the acclaimed openside would miss the entire domestic campaign, but Curry has made a faster recovery than expected. After undergoing a six-hour operation to rectify the ‘car crash’ injury, as he described it, the talented back-rower is now fit to rejoin his twin brother Ben in the Sale line-up.”

Sale’s rise up the league table from eighth place to finish third has been orchestrated in Curry’s absence, setting up a semi-final showdown in the West Country. The Curry brothers’ reunion will provide an ideal opportunity to showcase their international credentials, with a breakdown and gainline battle against Bath’s renowned back-rower Sam Underhill set to captivate rugby union enthusiasts.

There is a possibility that both Tom and Ben Curry could be selected for England’s upcoming summer tour of Japan and New Zealand, unless head coach Steve Borthwick decides to grant Tom an extended break following his lengthy injury layoff.
