Wales Flanker Botham Commits Future to Cardiff
Wales international flanker James Botham has affirmed his long-term future with Cardiff, the Welsh rugby union club announced. The 26-year-old has signed a new, extended contract, though the specific duration was not disclosed.
Botham expressed his delight at the contract renewal, stating,
“It’s great to be able to sign another contract here. I am settled here in Cardiff, and in terms of rugby, it’s fantastic to see so many young, talented players also committing their futures as we build towards the years ahead. We have a lot of potential in this group.”
Cardiff’s head coach, Matt Sherratt, shared the club’s pleasure at retaining Botham’s services.
“He has been unfortunate with injuries this season, but he is back fit and available, and we are all eager to see him back in a Cardiff jersey this season and beyond,” Sherratt remarked. “He is already a key player for us, but I have no doubt that he can elevate his game even further within our environment.”
The news will be welcomed by Wales rugby union fans, as Botham has established himself as a crucial member of the national team’s forward pack. His continued presence at Cardiff will ensure he maintains match fitness and form, bolstering his chances of selection for the Wales national squad.
