Wales Aiming for High-Stakes Victory Over Spain
As Wales prepares to take on Spain in the WXV2 play-off, wing star Jasmine Williams is hoping to end a challenging season on a high note. Despite a disappointing Six Nations campaign that saw Wales finish bottom of the table, Williams and her teammates are determined to secure a crucial victory that will also guarantee their qualification for the Rugby World Cup next year.
“Everyone is in really good spirits at the minute because both us and Bristol finished the season on a high,” said Williams. “We’re pumped for this weekend.”
While the Six Nations didn’t go as planned, Williams believes the team has put in a tremendous amount of work and is now focused on perfecting the finer details.
“Even though our Six Nations didn’t go the way that we wanted, we got through a heck of a lot of work during that, so we’re just picking up on the finer details,” she explained.
Confident in their abilities, Williams emphasized the team’s quality and believes that if everyone performs their roles, they will excel.
“We know we’re a good side and we’ve proved it, we just need to replicate that and we’ll be fine. We’ve got some really good players and once we all do our own roles, we’ll do really well.”
The stakes are high for this weekend’s clash, with the winner securing their place in the Rugby World Cup. Wales will be determined to put their Six Nations disappointment behind them and clinch the victory over Spain, which would cap off a challenging season on a positive note.
