Wales Suffer Adam Beard Blow Ahead of Summer Matches, but Jac Morgan Set for Return
Wales’ preparations for their upcoming summer schedule have been dealt a blow, with lock Adam Beard ruled out due to an ankle injury. However, there is some positive news as World Cup captain Jac Morgan is poised to make his return to action this weekend.
Beard, who has earned 56 caps for Wales, sustained the injury during the Ospreys’ 61-24 defeat against the Bulls on April 27th. The British and Irish Lions lock landed awkwardly from a line-out and will now miss Wales’ upcoming fixtures.
Summer Fixtures
Wales are scheduled to face South Africa at Twickenham on June 22nd, before traveling to Australia in July for two Test matches in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as a game against the Queensland Reds in Brisbane.
Jac Morgan’s Return
In contrast, the news is more positive for Morgan, who is set to feature for the Ospreys in their trip to Leinster on Saturday. The flanker, who led Wales to the World Cup quarter-finals last year, has been sidelined since undergoing knee surgery in December.
The Ospreys have confirmed that Morgan is now available for selection, providing a timely boost for the Wales national team as they prepare for their summer internationals.
