Young Welsh Scrum-Half Sian Jones Joins Gloucester-Hartpury
Sian Jones, the young Welsh scrum-half, has secured a new opportunity with Gloucester-Hartpury, moving from fellow Premiership Women’s Rugby side Sale Sharks. The 20-year-old started her rugby journey at the tender age of five, playing for Denbigh Rugby Club before a brief stint with Chester and then joining the Sale Sharks setup.
Jones made her senior debut for Wales in March, coming off the bench against Scotland, and has since accumulated a total of five international caps. Her impressive performance during the Six Nations tournament has caught the eye of Gloucester-Hartpury, with head coach Sean Lynn expressing his enthusiasm about welcoming the promising talent to the team.
“Sian is a really promising young talent with a big future ahead of her,” said Lynn. “I was impressed with how she performed for Wales in the Six Nations, and everyone at the club is excited to welcome her to the team.”
This move to Gloucester-Hartpury presents an exciting opportunity for Jones to continue her development and showcase her skills at the highest level of women’s rugby in the UK.
