SUMMARY

The report themed Overview on the Kurdish Issue also addresses the Palestine issue and the climate crisis, both of which hold significant positions on the public agenda. The section on the Kurdish issue, which has resurfaced in political discussions, presents findings on which actors could play a more influential role in resolving the issue, as well as analyses on how different framings of the topic could contribute to a solution. Additionally, the report includes assessments by Prof. Dr. A. Betül Çelik and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Gürses. The Palestine issue is examined in terms of its impact on domestic politics and the varying attitudes of different segments of society toward the parties involved. Meanwhile, the climate crisis section summarizes this month’s findings from KONDA’s ongoing collaboration with İklim Haber on climate-related research.

From a political perspective, the report analyzes individuals’ party and leadership preferences, President Erdoğan’s performance ratings, voter profiles supporting different presidential candidates, and the strengths and weaknesses of these candidates in response to the question, "Who should govern Turkey?"

Since 2010, KONDA Research has been conducting a monthly series of political and social studies under the name BAROMETER. In each BAROMETER study, in addition to standard questions regularly asked about demographic characteristics, political preferences, and economic expectations, additional questions assess public perceptions and expectations regarding issues on the current agenda. The study forming the basis of the 158th report in the BAROMETER research series was conducted on November 9–10, 2024, through face-to-face interviews with 2,909 individuals in their households across 165 neighborhoods and villages in 87 districts, including provincial centers, in 33 provinces.
