Election Evaluations by Voters

SUMMARY

The section analyzes respondents' evaluations of the March 31st Local Elections. The evaluations include the Ak Parti's economic management, the CHP's candidate preferences, the change of administration in the CHP,  the Ak Parti's candidate preferences, the work of Ak Parti municipalities and the work of CHP municipalities:

• Turkish society's assessment of the election
• The reason for the Ak Parti's loss in the local elections is the government's poor economic management.
• CHP was successful in the elections because it ran better candidates.

• CHP succeeded in the local elections thanks to the change of administration.
• The Ak Parti failed because it entered the elections with the wrong candidates.
• Ak Parti municipalities failed in the elections because they did not work well enough.
• CHP municipalities were successful in the elections because they did good municipalism in the previous period.
