SUMMARY

Following the Ministry of Justice's approval of the DEM Party's request, Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder visited İmralı for talks with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan. These newly initiated discussions have been referred to as the "paradigm" talks. This section explores public opinion on these negotiations, as well as perspectives on the minimum wage set for 2025:

  • How do you view last week’s meeting between DEM Party MPs and Abdullah Öcalan?
  • What is your opinion on a potential new resolution process initiated by the government to address the Southeast/Kurdish issue?
  • Political preferences of Kurdish voters based on their stance on the İmralı talks
  • Who should govern Turkey?
  • Do you think the government's announced increase in the minimum wage is appropriate given current economic conditions?
  • Public perception of the minimum wage in relation to inflation and the rate of increase
  • Characteristics of those who consider the government's minimum wage adjustment suitable for economic conditions

One of the most important agenda items in the past few months has been the process developing after Bahçeli's statements regarding Öcalan. A large portion of society views these talks as a result of the state's failure. Support for the solution process among Kurds, especially HDP/DEM voters, is far above that of Turks. Nevertheless, the Kurdish approach is more cautious compared to the first solution process. The political groups supporting the process the most are HDP/DEM voters and AK Party voters. The issue of the minimum wage increase, however, unites all economic classes in the opinion that the increase is insufficient. Although approval among ruling bloc voters is higher than in other groups, a significant drop is observed compared to last year.
