The research shows that for a large part of society, the National Lottery has become less of an exciting ritual and more of a practice approached with caution. Although younger people and groups with higher education levels and incomes appear to be relatively more inclined to participate in the lottery, even in these segments, the percentage of those who say “I won't buy one this year” is striking.
