Employee Salary Scales and Additional Income Sources

SUMMARY

Although private sector employees are trying to bridge the gap with public sector employees through their latest raises, this gap remains wide. While informality in salary and wage payments has decreased over the years, it is still at a high level. This year, additional non-salary income sources have tended to be met largely by a single formal source. Nevertheless, the orientation toward informal sources remains significant.

This section examines current salary scales and raise percentages as of early 2026, the informality in salary/wage payments, and the diversity of formal and informal income sources beyond salaries:

  • What is your salary?
  • Did you receive a salary raise? How much of a raise did you get?
  • How is the payment/salary/wage for your work paid to you?
  • In the last year, which of the following financial resources or income did you obtain as a household, excluding your salary?
