SUMMARY

The rise of active conflicts in the region and their beginning to affect daily life are steering public opinion in Turkey toward a pragmatic and isolationist stance. This is evidenced by the inclination to remain neutral in the war between the USA-Israel and Iran, to act either with Muslim countries or unilaterally in foreign policy, and a slight increase in the approval of the government's foreign policy.

This section includes an analysis of current public perceptions and attitudes toward foreign policy in Turkey following the war between the USA-Israel and Iran:

  • In your opinion, what should Turkey do if the tension between America-Israel and Iran continues?
  • What is the biggest obstacle to peace in the Middle East?
  • In your opinion, which country or countries should Turkey primarily act with when conducting its foreign policy?
  • Turkey must absolutely become a member of the European Union.
  • Turkey must absolutely maintain its NATO membership.
  • To what extent do you find the AK Party government successful in terms of foreign policy?
