This section tracks public expectations of an economic crisis, individuals' predictions of financial hardship, and monthly trends in their ability to make ends meet.
Across Turkey, 3 out of every 4 people expect an economic crisis within the next three months. It can be deduced that the savings package announced last May and recent statements regarding fiscal policy have failed to cause a significant shift in the public's expectation of a crisis. As the expectation of a crisis increases, people's emotional well-being also trend in a negative direction. A deterioration is also observed in the ability to make ends meet, and the proportion of those going into debt has increased. Ruling bloc voters remain the political group with the lowest expectation of a crisis; however, while this expectation has decreased among AK Party supporters, it has increased among MHP supporters.
