Turkey’s NATO membership continues to maintain its legitimacy among the Turkish public. Although developments such as the U.S.-Iran War occasionally undermine confidence in the alliance, the government’s pro-NATO stance and diplomatic efforts within the alliance are boosting support for NATO membership among the ruling bloc’s voters. Although a significant portion of the public believes that security measures and the budget allocated for the NATO Summit have overshadowed the event itself, two-fifths of the population still considers the summit important for Turkey’s prestige.
