The chapter examines current positioning and attitudes towards Turkish nationalism:
91 percent of society responds positively when asked whether they define themselves using one of the terms "Turkist," "Idealist," "Nationalist," "Neo-nationalist," "Patriot," or "from Turkey" (Türkiyeli). The "Türkiyeli" identity acts as a differentiating factor among Kurds. While 3 out of every 5 people fear the division of Turkey, this rate is lowest among DEM Party voters. The political group with the highest proportion of individuals who believe the Turkish nation is superior to other nations in every regard consists of ruling bloc voters, whereas IYI Party voters are more distant from this statement compared to CHP voters.
